Me And You And Gollum Too (Me and You and A Dog Named
Boo by Kent Lavoie)

I don’t remember to this day,
What happened along the way.
I suppose we must have gotten stuck in that dirty fen.
Will-power was what made us slog
Across the waste and the haunted bog.
We kept getting up and back on the road again.

Me an' you an' Gollum too.
Scramblin’ and a-hidin’ who knows where
Me an' you an' Gollum too,
How I loathed bein’ the Ringbearer. . .

I still can’t recall,
The cave behind the falls
The mornin' we got caught by Faramir and his men . . .

I supposed he must have questioned me
But then I gather he set us all free
Gave us some food and put us back on the road again ...

Me an' you an' Gollum too.
scramblin’ and a-hidin’ who knows where
Me an' you an' Gollum too,
How I loathed bein’ the Ringbearer. . .

Well, I'll never forget the night
Merry and Pippin put Bill Ferny to flight
The fight for the Shire is one thing that stays in my
brain.
Though it's only been a year or so,
My old wounds are a buggin’ me so,
Gotta get away,
Back on the road again . . .
