From the Floating Log at Frogmorton

Paths of the Dead (TTTO Friend of the Devil [The Grateful Dead])

I lit out 'cross Rohan, I was trailin' twenty Orcs
Didn't get my hobbits back, some guy gave me a horse
Now I'm headin' for the Paths of the Dead
Stick with me, Gimli or you might lose your head
We'll make that Stone before daylight,
You won't get any sleep tonight.

Ran into Eowyn, man, she wants to go to war
I didn't mention Arwen 'cause I knew that she'd be sore.
Set out walkin' on the Paths of the Dead,
It won't be as bad as everyone's said,
At Erech's Stone in deepest night,
Let's go draft us a Mountain-Wight.

I watched him ride over the Dike and down the Deeping Coomb:
Theoden of Rohan riding off to meet his doom
Then I headed for the Paths of the Dead
In Lamedon and Calembil the villagers fled
The Storm of Mordor's the same as the night
And now we're lost to mortal sight

Got two reasons why I cry away each lonely night,
The first one's named Sweet Arwen E., and she's my heart's delight.
The second one is Frodo, babe, 'cause Gollum's on his trail,
And if he gets his Precious back, the West will surely fail.

Got an Elf in Rivendell, a gal in Edoras
The first one made me this flag for me, but it's too dark to see.
Takin' these dead guys down to the Sea
At Pelargir they'll fight for me
If Frodo can just ditch that Ring,
I might finally get to be King.
